most of my mutuals are non-spanish speakers, so this is a thread of what's happening in Chile and how the police and government are violating human rights.

it all started on october 4th, when the price of the public transport (metro) went up from $800 pesos ($0.98 ) to $830 ($1.17).
the minimum salary of a worker is $301.000 ($378.98) so you would be spending $1.660 pesos on a daily basis on public transport ($2.09) and $51.460 monthly (64.79), leaving you with less than $250.000 (341.77) for food, education, health and basic needs (water, electricity, etc).
students decided to protest angainst this by evading the payment of the metro, letting people enter without paying, they were repressed by the police, people were detained including minors.
massive protests were performed the next days against the abuse, the injustices that are lived here and Piñera's government, it all started with cacerolazos, some of them were violent and some of them were pacific, but both were repressed by the cops.
on october 18th at midnight, the president declared Santiago on a State of Emergency, which gave the military forces the power to mantain the "order and security".
it was a complete disaster, the military forces detained more than 900 people, included minors, pregnant women and seniors (most of them were tortured on police stations and streets) and over 60 people were killed by the second day of state of emergency.
today, there are more than 200 reports of sexual abuse from the police and military forces, more than 2000 people who are hurt, and over 200 who present ocular wounds, most of them lost the sight on-both-of their eyes and over 22 deaths by the government.
people are being killed, human rights are being violated and the government is doing nothing but laugh at our faces, we want real solutions and justice for our people!

SAMU staff who attended the 29-year-old, Abel Acuña, who died today after the manifestations, denounced that while he was being revived, police officers shot pellets, gases and water. An official injured by a shotgun pellet.
here can be appreciated how the police wets the ambulance that was going to help Abel Acuña.
