The @JITMH17 just dropped a figurative nuke on Russia and the LDNR, with a pile of new phone calls between high-ranking Russian officials and DNR leaders.
We ( @bellingcat) are digging into the calls, but already found some bombshells in these new calls. https://www.politie.nl/themas/flight-mh17/witness-appeal-crash-mh17.html
Biggest question from all of these calls is the identity of Vladimir Ivanovich. We have a pretty good idea as to who this guy is, hopefully can publish soon. Also, his ringback tone is Swan Lake.
The FSB gave special encrypted phones to a number of its people in the DNR, which -- shock -- got cracked, thanks to the Dutch. Dubinsky was kind enough to give us a long list of people important enough to get the super-special FSB phones:
The call that may get the most press in Ukraine is this one from July 2014, where Surkov is talking with Aleksandr Borodai. Surkov talks about meeting with Rinat Akhmetov (!)
It's amazing that the @JITMH17 can work so freely with all of this information, publishing it for all to see, with no restrictions on maintaining niceties with any Ukrainian oligarchs or Kremlin officials. There's likely no way we'd hear these calls without their investigation.
Another interesting moment from July 3: Borodai complains to Surkov about Bezler (Bes), the insane commander of Horlivka. They both want Bezler taken out.
Two days prior, there was order that Bezler's men were to be killed on sight. From leaked messages of a Pushilin aide:
Media report from July 1st on the Bezler thing. Interesting to see how the Bezler Problem was being discussed internally with these intercepted calls/messages -- one for the historians to consider, I guess, as Bezler is living the good life in Crimea now.

The @JITMH17 cite Girkin's interview with @the_ins_ru in its new call for witnesses, seen in the link below. A reminder that a few days ago, Ukrainian MP and former minister @IrynaFriz ridiculously accused The Insider of being controlled by the FSB.

The JIT gave Russia every chance to cooperate with the investigation, patiently waiting to release damning evidence about their directly involvement with MH17. In it 2014-6, the JIT carefully avoided revealing how much they knew, allowing Russia to stop digging its own grave.
Until their September 2016 press conference, the JIT made it very clear that Russia was to blame but avoided naming them, ostensibly giving the Kremlin a chance to recant and cooperate at least someone what the investigation. Instead, the Kremlin doubled-down.
Now, the @JITMH17 is burning a bunch of the GRU and FSB's operational methods and officers -- nothing is clearer from this than outright providing the phone numbers used by the FSB/GRU and their LDNR operatives. In 2014-6 calls for witnesses, they redacted phone numbers and IDs.
In previous calls for witnesses, the @JITMH17 was careful to redact names/numbers and only focus on communications between separatist forces. Now they're just straight-up publishing the names, numbers, and calls between Kremlin officials where they are discussing non-MH17 topics.
Obviously, Russia was never going to cooperate with the JIT, but the Dutch at least gave them the opportunity to recant. Now, their intel services and the JIT are bolder than any other Western government or group in airing the Kremlin's dirty laundry and exposing their methods.
tl;dr- The Dutch are sick of Russia's shit, so they're dumping a lot of incriminating and embarrassing stuff on them after the Kremlin did everything they could to disrupt the MH17 investigation.
