It& #39;s going to be another exciting day today. Same colleague is shadowing me on another SE job.

They did brilliantly on Tuesday and we got all the way in.

Today, let& #39;s see if we can practice some slight of hand and/or distraction techniques to get a key logger plugged in https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😎" title="Smiling face with sunglasses" aria-label="Emoji: Smiling face with sunglasses">
Ok so a quick overview:
Get into the casino.

Convince staff that we& #39;re also staff from another office.

Get into the inner office areas (there may be several).

I& #39;m going to call my colleague Jo. It& #39;s easier than typing colleague every time.
Jo and I are dressed in a particular style. We& #39;re pretending to be from head office but we& #39;re not dressed as if we& #39;re from head office. Close but not the same.

We& #39;re dressed slightly differently to fit in more with the target site dress then head office dress style.
I& #39;m going to mention this again because it& #39;s really really useful:

Be observant! Practice being observant, all the time!

The more you practice, the easier it becomes.

And you need it to be easy, you& #39;re going to be in a (personally) high stress situation.
If you can remember a name from a name badge that you saw 5 minutes ago, saying that name to the next person will reinforce that you should be there.

So practice being observant, remembering names and recalling them at a later date.
Don& #39;t underestimate the come down/crash when you& #39;re done.

Jo and I went and sat in a cafe after we& #39;d finished on Tuesday. We& #39;ll do the same today.

The crash can be over whelming and make you feel tired really suddenly.
Going afk for a bit, bbl with a debrief.

Also, for Jon https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😎" title="Smiling face with sunglasses" aria-label="Emoji: Smiling face with sunglasses"> tagging this for future ref

And we& #39;re back :)

So the debrief:

We got in! But....

We didn& #39;t get as far as we did on Tues.

I& #39;ll explain why:
We& #39;d worked out a pre-text which we& #39;d gone over beforehand. I can& #39;t give full details here, but...

When we delivered the pre-text to the manager, I noticed a body language change on certain words, which I reacted to, and clarified the wording.
The trouble was, it closed off our avenues to get to other more sensitive/important areas.

Which wasn& #39;t ideal and didn& #39;t allow us to get as far as Tuesday.

So I made a mistake. It happens. It was good learning exp for Jo (the mistake and the overall experience)
That said, we were given free reign in areas we shouldn& #39;t have been and got further than we should have.

Just a shame we didn& #39;t get really far in. Never mind.
Great stuff learnt this week:

It& #39;s awesome teaching people stuff.

It& #39;s ok to be nervous, Jo and I were equally as nervous and I& #39;m supposed to be the "experienced" SE.

Practising being in normal life observant pays off on the job.

And thanks to Jo for being a willing student!
Doing another next week, but on my own. Much more complex so probably won& #39;t tweet about it (or get chance)

But will try again when @Yekki_1 becomes the next shadow& #39;er in a couple of weeks. Different target, very different objectives, including a dropbox https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😎" title="Smiling face with sunglasses" aria-label="Emoji: Smiling face with sunglasses">
In the meantime, any questions etc, just shout. Will try to answer as best I can.
