at what point does WWE look at the success that NJPW's young lion system and Stardom's dojo and their whole senpai/kĹŤhai system, and realize just how bad the results have been coming out of the performance center, and just be like, fuck man, we should probably be doing better...
...with these incredible, vast resources that we've provided ourselves. Like damn, you look at the dudes that got their START in the WWE developmental system and the top 3 success stories are Chad Gable (who was already an olympic level WRESTLER), Roman Reigns, & Baron Corbin...
...and that's not even me trying to shit on Corbin. Dude's a legitimately solid in-ring worker. But he's also been wrestling since October 2012. The RPG 3K guys graduated from the NJPW dojo in November 2012. SHO specifically has grown into an absolutely incredible worker.
Here's another mind blower: Roman Reigns started wrestling BEFORE Hiromu Takahashi. 🤯

You make a list of the best in-ring workers in the world right now and there's a very strong chance that anywhere from 3-6 of them are NJPW dojo graduates.

Now let's talk about women.
The biggest female success story the WWE developmental system has gotten so far is Bianca Belair. But when you break it down, everything that is great about her is something that SHE brings to the table, not something that the WWE system trained her on. Her in-ring work is okay.
But her strength? Incredible. Her athleticism? Exceptional. Her personality? Over the top great. Her natural facial expressions and mannerisms? Great. All shit that can't be taught in the 3 years she's been at the PC. She's had all that since before she stepped into a ring.
Bianca was going to be great at basically any physical competition she decided to do because of her incredible work ethic, drive, and natural athleticism.

Kairi Sane on the other hand? She's not a freak athlete. She doesn't have that elite strength or power, either.
I will say though, she definitely does have a great personality. She's very charming and you might not know if it you've only seen her NXT/WWE work, but she's actually got a great sense of humor too. But she is also an exceptional in-ring worker. Remember the first MYC?
Kairi Sane vs. Bianca Belair happened in the second round. That was the match that put Bianca on the map, but it was also Kairi's second match in the WWE as a whole. Both women looked like stars, but if you paid attention, Bianca was still VERY green in this match. Kairi...
...basically gave Bianca her best match ever, in her 2nd match in the company. Hell, in Bianca's rookie year no less. This was a great match that outwardly showcased Bianca's awesome power, athleticism, and gimmick, while low key showcasing Kairi's incredible in-ring prowess.
Now if we have to talk about literally any female product of NXT that isn't THE exception to the rule (Bianca), that's when things get a little less positive. Dana Brooke? Mandy Rose? Bliss? Eva? Aliyah?

There are some minor success stories. Carmella, Liv, even Sonya somewhat.
Granted, Sonya was already in MMA before coming to WWE which seems to lend itself to being able to pick up on pro wrestling more naturally, almost akin to Gable with his olympic wrestling background.

But of course the one that'll be held as the greatest success story...
of course, Charlotte.

But what do all of these women have in common?

They're all average to below average in-ring workers, and they've all been wrestling for 4+ years.

You know who else has been wrestling for 4 years?

Jungle Kyona. Don't know her? vvv
This is probably my women's match of the year. And if it isn't, then Jungle's match with Utami from the 5 Star is. That's up on youtube too with french commentary. Or just get Stardom World (cheap plug) and enjoy it in its raw form.

Speaking of Utami...yeah she's in year 2.
She's kind of a Sonya parallel, since she was trained in judo before trying out for Stardom. But you compare Utami now, having been wrestling for 15 months, to Sonya now, who's been wrestling for going on 4 years at this point? She's so talented and driven. Come on WWE.
Between the somehow-obviously-doing-something-wrong training at the PC, to the ridiculous work schedule that forces everybody to spend more time traveling to shows than honing their craft?

You have the fucking performance center and access to the best "coaches" in the world.
The fact that the WWE can't take someone like Sonya, who had legit MMA experience before getting signed and a great work ethic, and get her to where she's putting on great 15 minute matches within the span of a couple years?

WWE'S DEVELOPMENTAL SYSTEM IS BROKEN.

I'm done now.
