star trek is weird because it establishes all the monolithic cultures and the people within them are always like "yeah this is how it is, I see no reason to do anything else ever"

like, how come there are no Klingons who are like "Yo, the ultimate warrior move is Vulcan logic"
star trek presupposes a diverse and tolerant universe where nobody wants to cross pollinate their cultures for some reason

except the borg who want to do it too much
this thread was inspired by me googling "what happens if a klingon is pacifist" and not being able to find any info
like we know there are klingon poets, scientists, and opera performers
do all of those people wanna die in glorius battle? nobody's like "nah I just wanna garden?"
or are they just biologically warlike? because that's pretty fucked up in it's own right
and also, so are vulcans but their culture made them logic bros, so it shouldn't matter either way
do all the aliens get together and be like
"Oh my thing is war"
"Mine's logic"
"We like money"
and then turn to the human who is like
"I dunno, I like more than one thing personally."
