A person in Shanghai had a terrible skirmish with ICBC, 1 of China’s big 4 banks. After posting on Weibo a translation error in a poster he spotted at a Shanghai ICBC, ICBC contacted his friends, relatives, colleagues, former colleagues...to pressure him into deleting his post.
Apparently the problem was not that he pointed out 雨伞 was wrongly translated, but that the CN map next to it didn’t include Taiwan. Whoops. This guy was told that some ICBC bosses might have to step down b/c of his post. And was not the end of the ICBC harassment...
That night, when he got home, 4 ICBC workers were waiting outside his apartment, hoping to persuade him to delete the Weibo post. Guess where they got his address?
