Sub-species of traumatic cardiac arrest, as identifed by #POCUS:

1. Cardiac standstill, no effusion --> STOP

2. Pericardial effusion --> Immediate resuscitative thoracotomy

3. Heart empty, IVC flat, abdo/pelvic hemorrhage --> REBOA

4. Nothing making sense? Work the DDx --> Consider non-medical cause

All this pre-supposing the following, as indicated:

1. Halt external hemorrhage
2. Bilateral finger thoracostomies
3. Bind pelvis

As time and resources permit:

4. Advanced airway
5. Massive hemorrhage protocol
