It is worse every year for religious minorities in America because of two factors:

1. The rise in "Nones" (people who see themselves as having no religion, American secularism)

2. Christian hegemony
These two groups, with the "Nones" growing every year, are united in their belief that Christmas (Santa, tree, candy cane, gifts) is an observed holiday. They both believe that you can use the formula Christmas - Jesus = secular Christmas, and you're cool.
They are supported by the SCOTUS, in Lynch v. Donnelly. (Read Brennan's dissent, y'all. It's 🔥)

Except Christmas isn't secular and I can prove it.
Religious Jews don't celebrate Christmas. Many of us celebrate Thanksgiving, a truly secular holiday, but we don't touch Christmas, even just Santa and trees.
This means the only people who do not celebrate it are those with explicitly religious reasons not to. Because it belongs to another, foreign religious tradition.

This marriage between the Nones and Christians is what makes Christmas so corrosive to religious minorities.
