I'll say it-

I hate it that the studio redesigned Sonic because a bunch of fans complained. You don't get to make the woman in MISERY the hero. You don't have to consume art you don't like, but we are not entitled to force the artist to change. See also, Mass Effect 3's ending.

You can dislike stuff, or even dislike stuff within stuff you otherwise like. But it is not the responsibility or job of a creator to cater to the whims of the audience just because they cry loud. Then it becomes this Choose Your Own Adventure loop rather than a story.
