Preview of Future: Victory, Repubs win House.
Ok, that seem cool and all, but lets dig deeper.

Are you familiar with Art 1, Sec 6, Cause 1 of the U.S. Constitution? It is called the speech and debate clause. It states that Reps and Sens are untouchable during session -- excluding Treason, Felony, and Breach of Peace.
Since Trump was elected President, the legislative session has ended & begun on the same day. Providing non-stop immunity for Reps and Sens. Doesn't that sound awesome? Just use the Constitution as cover to escape criminal prosecution! There is a way around this insanity, right?
Sure there is, Art 2 -Sec 3. Most people think this is only about the state of the union, but read the entire section.

"he may adjourn them to such Time as he shall think proper"

To me this says, if the Sen and House cannot agree on a time, POTUS decides. Why is this important?
So, lets say the Senate votes to end the session on 12/22/19, prior to holidays. Then the house the Dems [vote not | refuse to vote] to end the session, in hopes of extending the session & forcing a zero-length gap between sessions. The house also refuses to negotiate w/ Senate.
Then it is possible for POTUS to use his powers under Art 2 - Sec 3 and force adjournment of Congress. At that time, the session would end & so would immunity.

If enough bad actors were removed, it could shift the balance of power in the House when Congress convenes.
Also, for those of you that like dates, Jan 6 is Epiphany =)
