i've seen MANY aspiring indies/game dev students mobbing on game freak today.

i did dumb shit when i was a student, too, so i'm gonna be earnest:

insinuating that ppl /in your line of work/ "lied" bc their game doesn't meet your hopes shows a damning lack of empathy/perspective
i'm not gonna tell you "nobody will hire you now". i don't have the stature to cast that judgment, and i have no interest in intimidating you.

instead, i wanna say this to you on level: start thinking of developers 10+ years your senior w as much empathy as you look at yourself.
a game's production is a tale of experience, chance, circumstance, and timing that goes far beyond its surface appearance.

you will come to know this as you struggle during your own work. as you improve, that struggle doesn't go away - it just evolves to match your best ability
so, w sufficient time after release (which has NOT yet passed), it will be fair to critique sw/sh and talk about what went wrong. i'm sure Game Freak is already doing that.

but professionals do it in good faith - not to tear down, or to inflate the self-importance of your dollar
walking the line between consumer and dev can be weird, but CRITIC and dev is /risky/. if you tread with empathy, imo it's a risk worth taking. but it takes work - self-improvement, listening, and assuming the best of devs. you gotta put it in.

just keep that in mind. that's all
