It appears that @YouTube have been shot in the knee by the FTC recently. Any content that is essentially family friendly (or at the very least, appeals to kids) will be deemed as "child-directed" meaning that creators will be demonetized and have their comments section removed.
Imagine that. All that work being pissed away because your content appeals to children, even if it's intended for adults. The biggest victims currently are the Arts and Crafts community, where numerous creators of Art Kits, Dolls and even Slime have had their channels neutered.
A closer look at it also leads me to believe that this will go onto affect gaming content creators on YouTube, especially those that feature Fortnite, Minecraft, Roblox and possibly even Overwatch. These cartoon-ish styles are on the chopping block.
YouTube is essentially playing it safe and just flat out neutering these content creators and their videos in order to be on the cautious side of the law. I can't imagine this is going to get any easier but everyone needs to take a stand against this.
We are literally at a point in time where @YouTube is demonetizing mature content for brand safety purposes, while the FTC is making YouTube demonetize family friendly content to protect children.

You will see a lot less creators on YouTube in the future if this continues.
Even in the current state of things it's only going to get worse. Just imagine for a second.

@CouRageJD IS LITERALLY STREAMING MINECRAFT ON YOUTUBE RIGHT NOW. Does this mean @YouTube will have to cut down his content because it appeals to children?

Livelihoods are going to go out the window if this keeps up. Help make a change? Tweet out, get the followings involved? Lodge valuable feedback to the FTC so they can learn about the GOOD of content creation.

Sidenote: now that I think about it, this even affects Wrestling content as well. Would WWE's youtube channel suddenly go belly-up because of the implications of their young fans?

@XavierWoodsPhD on both sides because of @UpUpDwnDwn too.

@AlexM_talkSPORT something to look into?
