The FIEC Leaders' Conference review, Twitter sphere style!
In short - this was hands down the best leaders' conference I've been on (and it was my 9th)
@theFIEC #FIECLC
1. Genuine Loving Concern
I loved getting to chat with dozens of people from different churches of different sizes in different parts of the country serving different types of people.
Great joy that we serve the same Saviour and King. Great chance to express our partnership.
2. Great Preaching
@_JohnStevens reminded us we serve from WHO Christ has made us.
Colin Smith blew the roof off. His stuff on confessing sins was gold.
@revandyprime exalted Christ calling us to look to him and not lose heart (he also clarified that 5 is greater than 4!)
3. Terrific Singing
@colinwsongs and @philmooremusic lead the band (called "Sally and the Brothers" at least to @_adrianreynolds singing brilliantly. It was a great joy to sing with 1000 others songs that exalted Christ and warmed my heart.
Also, the drummer wore a great hat!
4. Food GLORIOUS Food!
@RivieraCentre catering was brilliant! What a treat to eat such excellent food and enjoy great conversations over better tables. Staggering how efficiently 1000 people were fed.
I'm pretty sure @MezClassy appreciated the sparkling water.
5. Books Galore
@10ofthose @jdcarswell10 & Co. did what they always did. Ran a great bookstall. Served us with the friendly efficiency we've come to expect. Provided us with many books that point to Jesus!
6. Older Leaders cheering on Younger Leaders
I was again so grateful for older & wiser leaders being genuine encourages of younger leaders, like me (I think I'm still young). And it was great for some of us young'uns to get a chance to run seminars and speak.
7. FIEC Central Staff are heroes!
The conference ran really smoothly, which is testament to enormous amounts of hard work and eye for detail from Phil Topham & Co. The stewards served us tirelessly too! Thank you! Thank you!
8. Deep Encouragement
Hearing @_JohnStevens National Directors Report was a real encouragement.
It was great to hear of the 33 churches who have joined @theFIEC this year.
It was great to hear from a few new initiatives funded by the £800k Money for Mission.
9. Jesus is building his church
All of the above is evidence that the church is growing in the UK. Growth is genuine, if slower than we would like. It's a joy to be reminded of the partnership in the Gospel in @theFIEC
Giving glory to God!
Praying for grace for the year ahead!
