If you think the LDs are being tribal then think again. We have an opportunity to stop Brexit by persuading Tory Remainers to back us in LD/Tory battleground seats. If we stand aside for Labour it will send the wrong message to those we need to attract. 1/
It will undermine the key message we are trying to get over. So yes it's hard in Canterbury. We may need to lose a few remain battles to stop the Tories.

Canterbury is no easy seat for Labour to retain. Those who made a huge difference in 2017 were students. 2/
The electorate has a Tory vote that until 2017 was more than enough to keep them the seat. Most non Tories voted Labour in GE17. There was a small vote for the LDs So to win this time, Labour has to hope that a different cohort of students can get them over the line 3/
