For a long time conservative commentators have run a line abt the so called beef between city/bush Blacks - #ThingsKAKDid and even *our* Minister as recently as this year
But yesterday’s statement across the continent, with predominantly Black ppl turning up and speaking out #istandwithyuendumu is a testament to the solidarity of Black ppl (and not of white allies and saviours)
we also shouldn’t forget who is responsible for disbanding the specific institution for which Blackfullas could come together to organise and strategise as a Black collective - before we were lumped with state sanctioned handpicked advisory groups and committees
It is a sad irony that the committee selected 2 facilitate a *new* process for an Indigenous voice to government met on the same day that so many Blackfullas across the continent were expressing their voice. The Minister who spoke abt real Aborigines is MIA on so many real issues
Now is not the time to erase, minimise or undermine the power of Black collectives. In our community we have a put down abt ppl who ‘tryna be the one’. It’s not abt crabs in buckets; it’s because we now how futile it is as an emancipatory strategy.
There is nothing more spectacular than the work that comes from Black collectives committed to Black liberation, culturally, politically and intellectually - wherever they are located.... #istandwithyuendumu
