So, got to play some #deathstranding last night and I have to say I really like it so far. But it is most definitely not a game for everyone. It’s a game that takes its time and not about instant gratification.
You get a lot thrown at you in the beginning and you don’t get the answers right away you don’t get to places right away but be sure if you put in the time you will be Rewarded.
In a way #Deathstranding is a bit like the movie #Bladerunner. Blade Runner is not a party film. No instant gratification all the way to the end. You have to be open to it and let it do what it needs to do.
In a way I sort of relate to #Deathstranding ? as some one who walks a lot and someone who is not afraid to put work in even if it is a slow arduous process. all you have is a direction and a Goal. Personally I found the games’s methodical nature refreshing.
The game is almost an Environment puzzle you have to Choose where to make Sam walk because of his balance and equipment. You will ruin his shoes if you walk on rocky ground. You have to be weary of the rain because it deteriorates his cargo.
Personally I got a lot of pleasure out of finding lost or discarded cargo and delivering them. It opened more options, If you did it enough. I also enjoyed exploring
Elephant in the room question would I suggest it to everyone? Not really, just like Metal Gear it is a game that won’t jell with everyone. People in to more actiony instant gratification sort of games might be put off buy what could be considered by some a mundane game play loop?
But for me #deathstranding as all that I like in games the hanging fruit of a new world to explore interesting things to find and a mystery to solve.
