Disney+ signed up 10 million subs in its first 24 hrs.
1. Whoa.
2. Last Avengers made $357m on opening weekend in US/Canada. With avg tix at $9.20, that's ~38m tickets sold. Not crazy to think D+ signs up half that (15-20 million subs) in a week.

3. There's really no reason, yet, to think this is terrible for Netflix.
You could argue that one thing that makes D+ so appealing (its low price) also reduces the substitution effect. Lotta people can afford to spend an extra $0.23 per day on entertainment.

4. It's boring to talk about Netflix's head start, but consider this:
When Disney + surpasses 20 million North America subs later this year or next, that will be a huge milestone for Disney, equaling the Netflix's domestic subscriber base ... from 2010.
