In the hallowed halls of @PGHtransit headquarters in downtown Pittsburgh, a momentous #opendata event is about to occur. This pumpkin pie represents unpublished transit data currently languishing in the vaults.
Our first publish! A KPI scorecard with ridership and on time performance systemwide and by route. http://portauthority.org/opendata
Average ons and offs by transit stop and route. This one is mappable! https://data.wprdc.org/dataset/port-authority-of-allegheny-county-transit-stops
On time performance by route! Think your bus is always late? See the data yourself! https://data.wprdc.org/dataset/port-authority-monthly-average-on-time-performance-by-route
GIS DATA. My personal fav. Our new ArcGis Hub hosts two dozen datasets including system walkshed (how far you can walk from a transit stop) and historic routes and stops. We’ll be loading on data going back over 10 years. https://open-data-paac.hub.arcgis.com/
There’s still a lot of data we haven’t touched yet. But we are super excited to kick this off with some of our most requested datasets and can’t wait to see what yinz can do with this data!
