I see lots of ppl lately looking dejected by their skills and presence online as a creator and I just gotta: (1/?)
It takes a long Long LONG time and constant pursuance to get to even begin to see results and a lot of times that goal of having your work reach far and gain traction. (2/?)
you have to 1. be okay with this. That you might and most likely won& #39;t be that one artist that got noticed within 6 months and seems to be killing it. 2. You CANNOT put your value and self worth as a creator on numbers that appear at the corner of your post. (3/?)
You will drive yourself into a toxic state of creating or lack there of over those numbers. Not saying you shouldn& #39;t celebrate at achievements and it is okay to get dejected, we all do. But it& #39;s a balance act. You cannot surround your self worth in that number. (4/?)
Of course we want to use social media to get our work out there and that is great! Post everywhere! Spam that retweet/reblog button, do what you need to try to get your art across and never let someone guilt you into limiting your actions for spreading your work (5/?)
Don& #39;t try to post consistently for 5 months and then give up if it isn& #39;t progressing fast. Listen to someone who has spent god...8 years? to just get to the point I am now. IT TAKES TIME!!! And you wont do fantastic on all social forms equally usually (6/?)
I feel like a broken record, but it is true. You don& #39;t know how long other artists you look up to struggled to get to the point they have, but I can bet it was a tough for them at the beginning too. (7/?)
The over all point is, keep creating, you didn& #39;t start drawing for a number count, don& #39;t let that determine if you continue to create going forward. If you want this to be a profession or lead to one, you gotta be persistent. (8/8)
