THREAD: Robson and Safechuck's shared lawyers were so eager to have more "victims" jump on their wagon, that they pursued relentlessly and aggressively Jonathan Spence, an old friend of Michael's who has never had a bad word to say about him and also got married at Neverland.
On August 3rd, 2017, JS and WR's lawyers served Jonathan Spence with a deposition subpoena, asking him to show up for a deposition on August 22nd. After receiving the subpoena Spence hired a lawyer and sent an objection about the date the lawyers had set for deposition.
After several back and forths, during which Finaldi and co. refused to determine a new date or take part in any discussion, Finaldi essentially threatened Spence with an OSC (contempt for willful violation of a subpoena) and called him an "uncooperative witness".
It was at this point that Spence's lawyer, looking into the case more thoroughly, found out that Safechuck claims had been dismissed and the Michael Jackson Estate had filed a summary judgment against Robson. The lawyer's conclusion was that WR's case would also be dismissed.
Based of that, Spence filed for a protective order asking that his deposition could be moved to a date after summary judgment motion. That meant that, had the Estate succeeded in getting Robson's case dismissed, Spence wouldn't have had to be deposed at all.
However, JS and WR's lawyers did not relent, to the point that in the protective order Spence's lawyers were forced to ask to protect their client's privacy as WR was asking for his medical, psychotherapeutic and sexual histories without showing why it was relevant to the case.
The irony of it all was that, while being so intrusive toward Spence, WR and JS' lawyers were fighting against the MJ Estate when it sought information of Robson’s medical and psychotherapeutic history that WAS highly relevant to the case, for obvious reasons.
Eventually, Spence asked for the legal fees he had incurred for filing the protective motion. He also explained the vile treatment he was subjected to by Robson and Safechuck's legal team: so much for "advocating for victims"! (Although Spence never claimed to be one).
Finally, Spence’s lawyer said it was highly unlikely that a deposition would lead to the discovery of admissible evidence. Furthermore, he added that Spence was childhood friends with Michael’s nephews, Spence didn't know Robson and had no information about Robson’s claims.
The last detail that deserves to be added is that, before harassing Spence, Finaldi & co. had also attempted to find Jordan Chandler and force him to be deposed. Plus, they were also harassing Chandler’s sister and girlfriend. This is their "victim advocacy": no victims, just $.
