Because I'm still thinking about it, let me tell you why Apple Classroom is worse than Google Classroom. From my experience, Apple Classroom is used to spy on and control student's iPads/Macs. Google Classroom lets you do that AND use it to teach.
Along with that, web-based school apps, from my experience, are 99% better than iOS/Mac apps. Socrative, Schoology, Canvas. All of these apps suck. The websites are great. ChromeOS with Google Classroom defaults to those.
That along with it just being cheaper. My school made me buy an iPad and Apple Pencil. It is required and not provided. That was about $450 or $500. THEN the school puts a profile on it and locks it into their system and disables all my apps when I'm on campus.
But the system is buggy af so it doesn't re-enable my apps for like 4 or 5 days. It's effectively turning MY iPad into my schools iPad. I spent $500 on this. It's mine not my schools.

With a cheaper Chromebook, it wouldn't have those issues. Google is more reliable.
Not to mention setting Chrome OS up at a school is miles easier than iPad OS or Mac OS. I helped set up both for my HS in Califonia.

Look, Apple can say whatever they want but Chrome OS is better 99 out of 100 times. I know this from using both.
My favorite is schools that just don't give a shit and let you use whatever and just have you connect to wifi. That was the best experience I had at school. I don't need to learn how to use something else to learn. It's the best system.
