My sister is heading to KL & Singapore this weekend. It's her first trip abroad & her first time on a plane since she was 3yo.

She asked me all sorts of stuff: cabin luggage limits, how to handle immigration, places to visit, regulations to follow, etc.

It got me introspecting.
For the longest time, I've been treating travelling as a habit, something that's regular. I now realize how massively privileged I've been, to travel to many places and almost all of them on someone else's dime.

My sister saved up her daily allowances just to make this trip.
I teared up when she said this:

"Every time mom and I drop you off at the airport, a part of me wonder what it's like to follow you, get on a plane, and fly away. I cannot believe my dream is finally happening."

The excitement in her eyes.
The joy in her voice.
All priceless.
I guess the takeaway here is to sometimes stop taking everything you have for granted. At one point, I too was like her: so excited to fly off somewhere for the very first time.

There's value in appreciating the blessings you have in life. Today, I'm thankful for my sister.
