The 80s boogie record that doesn't exist. Or at least, Tina doesn't exist.

here's the backstory I dug up:

This song is actually called "Bad Guy, Good Guy", from the soundtrack to a 1980 italian film literally called Super Cop.

The track:

"Bad Guy, Good Guy" (and the whole soundtrack) are attributed to a one-time group called The Oceans. They might've done a soundtrack to another italian film a year later, but that's it. Nothing else to their name

Two years after its original release, UK label Record Shack (you might recognize their Excaliber imprint) planned on reissuing the track, but the release never materialized for whatever reason. Two runs of test pressings remain floating around.

Some copies retain the original "Bad Guy, Good Guy" title. But others were inexplicably retitled "Pacific Dream".

Anyways, one day long ago, somebody uploaded a pic of their copy. It was one of the Pacific Dream variant, and a third party had written their name on the record.

"Tina"

Sometime presumably after, somebody (maybe the same person?) added an mp3 rip of the track to the internet. THIS file had the named "winson" attached. Maybe the ripper's username? Who knows. But it was there

Which all lead to this sale listing for the record (the earliest I could find), which labeled the record as... well, look for yourself

And this is presumably the information that got into the hands of "Active Force Records", a nondescript reissues/comp outlet that churns out random collections like "Rare Funky Groove Volume 5".

Which brings us to this totally fictitious Discogs discography.

Poor research? Trying to skirt clearances/royalties? Who knows. But there is no Tina Winson, and there is no Pacific Dream.
