From my experience when it comes to discrimination in big institutions,TamBrahm faculty are the worst. They are vicious, rude and won't even want to talk. For a student in late teens/early 20s, it wd be horrifying, humiliating and shatters her/him

There are no support systems in these institutions and the fear of rustication and shame of discontinuing are so overwhelming that students put up with it silently. One way they handle it is by avoiding interaction with that faculty and reconcile to utmost just getting a pass

What I have seen is that students across categories fail and are forced to miss one year. But the SC/ST ones are targeted for special humiliation

When a student from oppressed community comes out of these institutions s/he has gone through the worst and carry a life long scar

I have seen two things :

Students from these categories doing exceptionally well both in the campus and later in professional life. And students from open category f*cking up everywhere. So evaluation process is screwed up

I have this advice for students of oppressed groups:
+
Never take ur life; if it becomes impossible, quit the institute and go elsewhere and restart your studies/life

Always develop an emotional bond with students of similar background. They are the ones who will understand you & comfort you

Share your feelings with family always+
I always thought that it is imperative to counsel students from oppressed classes before they enter these institutions and also during their study
