Some of the reasons (I think) @boucherhayes #hotair programme by @rte was so successful (short thread) https://www.rte.ie/entertainment/video/2019/1112/1090467-boucher-hayes-on-hot-air-irelands-climate-crisis/
/ It spelled out the extent of the challenge for Ireland in reducing our emissions (they're rising right now) is a very direct way, and wasn't scared of telling it like it is on agriculture and aviation.
/ But @boucherhayes also offered solutions to every problem he described, such as @shacklej Jane Shackleton's low-intensity, biodiverse farm
/ It framed #ClimateBreakdown as a looming disaster - scholars usually warn against this - but also as an opportunity
/ And it also framed the #ClimateCrisis as a moral/ethical issue by including the @SchoolStrikesIE children
/ So it put forward a range of framings and a range of solutions - ticking a lot of the boxes for effective #climatecommunication.
/ Here's some more info on @shacklej's farm (thanks @olliemoore111) http://www.arc2020.eu/cattle-in-the-woods-meet-jane-shackletons-galloways/
/ And here is @boucherhayes talking about the making of the film on the incomparable @GreenNews_ie https://greennews.ie/hot-air-ireland-and-the-climate-crisis/
/ Turned out to be quite a long thread in the end...
