I'm hearing there is a proposed name change for the Eastern Cape. I noticed KwaXhosa on the list and I cannot think of a more repugnant thing.
KwaNtu I quite liked though. It's far more inclusive. But it would erase the Khoisan collective who aren't Abantu (in the strict sense) but are intrinsic to the fiber of that land mass.
Abantu in the sense that they are not 'Bantu'. Not that they are not people.
I interestingly noticed that Siya Kolisi nguGqwashu, which suggests he is a descendant of the Khoi. So a strict understanding of KwaNtu would not encompass that diversity.
I mean 30% of the language of isiXhosa are words of Khoi origins. Chief Maqoma, the lauded Xhosa warrior; his mother was a Khoi woman.
You can literally see the Khoi in Mandela's eyes guys and it is such a resistant gene because Mandla and his brothers have it too.
