Sociology friends, I am doing a lecture tomorrow on the 'founding mothers' of sociology? It's been a blind spot for me until recently, and i'm a little embarrassed I didn't know about these great female sociologists, who are your favs (pre WW2)?

Any favourites? There's much more from the early cannon than marx, durkheim,weber,simmel, comte, spencer!

They did turn up I promise! I think it went ok. One comment that I did overhear was 'why do we only have one lecture on the women though'
