#MandoSpoilers 1st the opening which I’ve already said was a Hero's Journey from JumpStreet. Mando walks into the belly of the beast, btwn huge teeth of creature to come, in classic western saloon entrance. The bar, the fight, then a mystical flute calls for Knight’s steed.

#MandoSpoilers The perfect golden chariot doesn’t reflect Mando’s heart, he’s broken but we don’t know why yet. That's a better reflection of our guy! The exact inverse of the Mando, functional on the inside, falling apart on the outside.

#MandoSpoilers Notice too the driver’s sleeve...literally wears his heart on it. More symbolism as the beast emerges from the cold depths & then on to meet Grief/Greef

#MandoSpoilers Kuiil’s shamanistic farm-sprawl. Hut & funky little all-seeing eye platform. Windmill. Little Ugnaught's got all the trappings of a mythical, mystical wizard. Even, the magic tea. The wabi-sabi aesthetic Rick Carter said the ST was going for, Qui-Gon-esque pottery.

#MandoSpoilers In this scene the camera does this weird subtle off-balance thing like we’re supposed to be getting an upset stomach. Like the scene when a shaman drinks ayahuasca or eats peyote with a pupil in a Carlos Castaneda book. Lucas very big on Castaneda back in the day.

#MandoSpoilers The Mando’s gone through two stages (I HAVE SPOKEN marks them both) w/ his shaman: 1-meeting 2-ceremony. Next, it’s time for a third and final, for this episode & character intro at least, the journey/trial inward (for now). By way of everyone’s fav murder droid.

#MandoSpoilers Final I HAVE SPOKEN is when Mando repeats Kuiil's words back to him as a question:

Mando: Why do you help?

Kuiil: I have never met a Mandalorian. I’ve only read the stories. If they are true, then you will make quick work of it. Then there will again be peace.

#MandoSpoilers The "it" here being the Mando's inner struggle, his true heart, that rusted, beat up shuttle at the beginning. And with the aid of a little symbolic ceremonial Castaneda tea, the Mando starts to see…

#MandoSpoilers At first glance, he sees the job and the obstacles guarding as Kuiil calls it "your quarry." Quarry, yes, is defined as a person being sought. But in most places, the 1st definition is a pit, someplace deep that has had a valuable resource extracted.

#MandoSpoilers 2nd glance, w/ the help of his 3rd eye. 3rd-eye!? The inward-looking chakra point? COME ON! It's a stretch BUT at 15mil an Ep & Filoni directing you're telling me they wouldn't say, "Pedro, do it again & put the damn scope over an eye like you did the last take?”

#MandoSpoilers Either way on 2nd glance, he sees part of himself, his shadow. The tough Mandalorian everyone else sees the robotic killer badass. Since he is a "foundling" (we don't know the lore there yet) maybe he feels a need to prove himself to the Mando "tribe." Issues bruh.

#MandoSpoilers The battle in the quarry/pit alongside his robotic self ensues & he gets to his target. But, IG (his symbolic self) wants to kill the target until he ends IG. Then makes a left-handed, heart-side, ET-esque connection w/ rebirth? A new way for now at least?

#MandoSpoilers All b/c Kuiil said I HAVE SPOKEN 3X & acted as guide. IMO IG is our SW version of SouthPark's Kenny. A droid that will be killed ea EP, & returns the next, as the Mando battles his inner-self. IG's bound to get a great finale though IMO b/c of what he represents.
