I had a long response to this but it's not letting me reply w all of the tweets so u all are saved from my adventure time ramblings for now

now that I'm thinking about it. how did bubblegum even learn english. as far as we know she was really only surrounded by other people of her own creation. it's feasible all the humans moved to the island before she was even born. did she learn from nightosphere people

aside from humans everyone in ooo is either from the nightosphere, space, etc, or they're a mutation of something. and the mutating didn't start happening until it happened with bubblegum. and all the humans in this area were off doing their own thing before leaving

aside from baby form the earliest we see bubblgum is when shoko shows up. and we know the bath boys are around there. so I guess we can just assume that peebs was doing her own thing and finally other people moved in around and that's how she got exposed to language

this still doesn't explain the german bc it almost seems like that's a first language for her and we don't see a single other person in the show speak it so. I don't know! maybe the mother gum was in a german american candy shop before the war and she learned it through osmosis

except if THAT was the case then uncle gumbald and all the other gums would know german too, and would probably speak to peebs in german which they don't so. listen I KNOW this was just pen ward being like "let's make pb know german" but. I need a lore friendly answer
