A thread on why the victorious producers were racist

1/10 First of all they really slept on Andre which was problematic in itself. He was hands down the most talented character in the show and he literally got no screen time and all of his screen time revolved around tori, who was such a bland character

2/10 Also Rex was originally a poc (puppet of color). In the pilot my mans had brown skin, but in the normal series he was fully caucasian

4/10 Also they didn’t just whitewash Rex by changing his skin color, they also changed his facial features. He originally had a broader nose and fuller lips. But the series regular Rex has a thinner nose and thinner lips . His hair texture also changed a bit

5/10 But as Rex transformed into a caucasian puppet, his “blaccent” never went away. The victorious producers perpetuated Rex’s “blaccent” for comedy and used this stereotype only for laughs. By doing so, they normalized the use of the “blaccent” by non black people creating a

6/10 Problematic culture in today’s youth by normalizing appropriation of certain cultures for comedic gain. Also since Robbie was technically the one controlling Rex, they indirectly made Robbie complicit in racist activities further tainting his problematic image

7/10 To expound on that, in the pilot Robbie was literally controlling the black man and using him as his puppet. He used his puppet as an agent for being able to say problematic things (esp about women since Rex was pretty misogynistic), but the producers making Rex caucasian

8/10 Did fix this one problematic point (not that they’re off the hook). It is clear that Rex is supposed to be created in Robbie’s image, and is his alter ego. But it makes no sense for him to be a black puppet. By making Rex Robbie’s “black” side, the producers teach kids that
