Ack apparently it’s list your accomplishments for the year/decade and while that’s all fun and good (be proud!) if your initial reaction like mine is dread, might I recommend taking a min now to think about what you want focus on and how you can measure it next year?
I started tracking the things that I was doing that mattered to me a few years ago and it’s been...so helpful. And fascinating. Bc when I see these and immediately want to cry about how I’ve done nothing, ever, DATA, my friends. DATA!
What have I tracked? Number of books I’ve read, words written, miles run, yoga classes, other stuff probably, but these are the things I never fee I do enough of so I can look at the data and say “no I did do SOMETHING”
This year I’ve been real specific in tracking writing bc I want to better understand how much time I need to plan, write, & revise a book & it’s so helpful, bc my brain can’t lie and say I’ve done literally nothing.
& it’s just super interesting bc when I look at where things do drop off (may/June & Aug/sept) IT MAKES SENSE! I moved the first week of June so all my spare time was packing cleaning unpacking cleaning, & i started a new job mid-August while traveling & executing a bachelorette
So I can be nicer to myself! Always a fun surprise to realize!
