I am not upset that Nissa and Chandra are no longer together. Sometimes people fall out of love as they grow and become different people. Thats normal. What I am upset about is the trivialization of Chandra's sexuality. Representing her love of Nissa as "just a phase" is harmful.
As a bisexual woman, I get a lot of "you'll grow out of it" and "you are just doing it for the attention." I felt like people were trivializing my feelings and that my sexuality was not valid. People acted like they knew my own mind better than I did.
#Bivisability is important. Its important to show bisexual characters in healthy relationships, no matter the gender of the partner. Its important to show that bisexual women exist without pandering to someone's fetish. It's not a phase, its love and it's valid. ❤💚
