Interesting thing I finally noticed while reading Mark 5 today.

On the way to Jairus’ house to heal his daughter — Jesus is interrupted by a woman with the “issue of blood”. Noted that she suffered for 12 years.

Later in Chapter 5 it is a side note that Jairus’ daughter is 12.
Not trying to over spiritualize things...but it’s interesting these two facts are noted.

Jairus was a ruler of the synagogue. No doubt he would have been familiar with the woman with the issue - she was unclean. He kept her out of the synagogue for 12 years.
Here comes Jesus.

“If I could only touch His garment...”

Boom.

Headed.

While a girl who Jairus fathered and protected and certainly taught the Law of YHWH (we are told by messenger) has died.

“Don’t bother the teacher anymore...”

No statement from Jairus.
They keep walking.

Jesus and Jairus walk into a chaotic scene.

Jairus remains silent.

Jesus walks up to the 12 year old. Who grew up in the synagogue — and gives her the same life given to the unclean woman only moments before.
Perhaps this was a lesson for Jairus (and us) that those who are seen as unclean or “less than” have the same grace and acceptance and “noticed-ness” in Christ.

Jesus cares. He notices. He is okay with being interrupted. You’re worth His time, and attention.

Amen.
