2020 is the year to put a bi-partisan constitutional amendment on the #ncpol March primary ballot eliminating the Sup. of Public Instruction and the State School Board.

An executive agency lead by a Gubernatorial appointee should take over administration of our Public Schools.1/
After watching North Carolina’s education system for the last two decades, it is apparent that the convoluted management structure of our system is the biggest impediment to its success.

Someone needs to be wholly responsible for the system’s administration AND outcomes. 2/
The Governor is the person most of the public already thinks is responsible for administering the system. #ncpol ought to actually make the governor responsible.

The Education Secretary would be confirmed by the legislature providing a check on poor gubernatorial choices. 3/
It is time to fix North Carolina’s broken and fatally flawed education management structure that is hurting our parents and teachers. 4/
This will be hard to convince voters to do. Voters - correctly - are hesitant to give up their right to elect a position.

Democrats and Republicans would need to be united.

And they should because this is what is best for our kids and that’s what education is really about. 5/5
