Private companies spend a ridiculous amount of money to iterate, fail & try again. They don’t refuse to try bc they can’t solve the whole problem all at once. They think in phases—they learn from failure & try again & again if they believe the opportunity is worth the investment.

I agree, we should hold governmental entities to a high standard. But we should encourage iterative processes & experimentation in the public sector in the same way private companies do. We solve these problems for the public good—not for profit. Different way of measuring ROI.

Yes, we have to be thorough and thoughtful and cost-effective. But I don’t think we can tackle society’s biggest problems if we think we need to think through and provide a solution for every possible public challenge or scenario before we even try. We need to try, y’all. Always.
