An additional #thread on the #Meiteis

On my first thread, I saw this interesting thing. Can you believe this? A community on the brink of getting their identity annihilated, and we don't know anything about them.

Today I'll a little more on the Meitei Crisis. #HelpTheMeiteis
1) SIMILARITIES BETWEEN SANATAN DHARMA AND SANAMAHISM.

Sanamahism and Sanatan Dharma co-existed peacefully for thousands of years. Even today, many Meitei Hindus, especially the older generations of Meiteis, worship the gods of Sanamahism alongside the Hindu deities.
That above image is an altar of a Meitei Hindu, whose photo was sent to me.

If you've noticed, there's the Kanglei Goddess of Power, called "Panthoibi ema" (1st pic). With the only difference about her being unarmed, she looks like Goddess Durga. @neha_aks @Shaktitva
If you think this is just one, then here's more.

Left side, this is the Kanglei Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity, Emoinu. Doesn't she look similar to the Hindu Goddess of Wealth, Devi Lakshmi?

There are more.

If you compare this story with the Karthik-Ganesh story about circumnavigating the universe, the similarities are visible.

Moreover, there are evidence of a Hindu Kingdom in Manipur as early as 6th Century BC. #MeiteiHindus

Many people are spreading this message that Sanatan Dharma came as late as 18th Century AD, during the reign of King Pamheiba.

Pure propaganda to break the Meitei society, I would say.
#HelpTheMeiteis #MeiteiHindus
Meitei Hindus themselves are also devout followers of Gauriya Vaishnavism. Some people from the current generation of Meiteis may have distanced themselves from it, but the older generation haven't. See the older Meiteis still having the chandan tilak (pic 2)
You may ask why have the younger generation distanced themselves. Here starts my next point.

2) THE NEGLIGENT TREATMENT BY OUR PREVIOUS GOVERNMENTS.

Weren't you fed the thought that the NE India is mostly Christian? That there no longer exists Hindus beyond Assam and Tripura?
Let's start with NEHRU first.

Manipur (Kingdom of Kangleipak) had the Kabaw Valley previously, which is called the "Rice bowl of Manipur". The Burmese captured it, but had to pay compensation tax to Manipur, according to Treaty of Yandabo signed with the British later.
What did Nehru do?

In 1954, he stopped the compensation tax the Burmese (now Myanmar) Govt. was giving to Manipur for capturing the Kabaw Valley, thereby literally giving the valley to them. He said he did this as a "token of friendship"

😑
Waah!
The Kabaw Valley extended somewhat to the Chindwin river in Myanmar. (I didn't get any exact territorial map of this valley).

If you look at the terrain beyond the Indo-Myanmar Border, only plains predominate. Fertile plains, which could somewhat give food security to Manipur.
Nehru ne toh unke pet pe hi laath maar dia 😑😑

Remember that this same person had said that "Ladakh is useless, because not a blade of grass grows there".

@MPLadakh
What did later governments do? Facilitate the breaking up of the Meitei society.

No development of Manipur but instead sending the IB to quieten the youths by booze and drugs.

Did you know that the Meitei women had become fed up of GoI and themselves have been combating this? Their actions led to the formation of women's social movement called "Meira Paibi" aimed at stopping illicit drug peddling and alcoholism. This is real #feminism

#MeiteiHindus
The IB was aware of #Christoislamic forces marauding the Northeastern India, but the Govt. at that time instead relied on brute force tactics, instead of addressing the needs of the Meiteis.

@sankrant
@porbotialora had given great insight into the demographics of Manipur.

Did you know that the Inner Line Permit (ILP) worked only for the Outer Manipur Area? And that anyone could buy and encroach on Inner Manipur Area?
#HelpTheMeiteis
Threat is not only from Nagas, but from the Xtian Kukis too.

Can you see the demand for Kukiland?

And the actual demand of "Greater Nagalim" by the NSCN(IM)?
3) PROPAGANDA.

Coupled with the GoI's apathy and the racism prevalent against them, was the propaganda constantly fed in their minds to break the Meitei society.

Things like "You are not true Hindus", "Hinduism weakened you" were constantly served to them.
Let's start with a book first.
A SHORT HISTORY OF KANGLEIPAK, by Wangkhemcha Chingtamlen.

Acc. 2 him, just because the kings who took bad decisions were Hindus, so Hinduism is bad, eh?
He didn't stop at that.

He brings up inane theories of adultery to defame Hinduism.

For the record, Vishnu Goswami was a Gauriya Vaishnavite monk from Nabadweep, and such amorous deeds were inholy for Vaishnavite monks.
*unholy
Same propaganda are peddled by many other people.
Watch this video 👇

In 19:44, he says that after Santidas Goswami & Hinduism came destruction of Manipur started. The Khnongjom war ( Anglo-Manipur war of 1891) was the second defeat of Manipur.
Do you know that these propaganda are purposefully made to break the Meitei society?

Watch Esther Dhanraj revealing the murky aspects of propaganda in Xtianity.
4) PURPOSEFUL SEPARATION BETWEEN THE ETHNICITIES THROUGH EDUCATION.

Whenever we ask people from rest of India if they know any warrior hero from NE India, a very few ones will say the name of Lachit Borphukan.

How many of you have heard about Bir Tikrendrajit Singh?
Bir Tikrendrajit Singh is a warrior hero of Manipur, who fought against the British in the Anglo-Manipur War. He successfully stopped the British forces and killed the colonel of the British forcesH during the first raid.
However he was overpowered during the second attack, when more soldiers were brought. Still he put a valiant fight, and he was captured, declared guilty, and hanged in public.

The place where he was hanged, has been made into a park in his name, and a Shahid Minar erected.
Kings of Manipur were devout Hindus. They could never tolerate any disruption of religious activities from outside forces.
Case in point, read this, a moment in history when sullas had to bite the dust.

We were not taught anything about Manipur, their history and their culture, and hence many of us are guilty of racism against them.

And that's how the seeds of disruption were planted.
The Xtian tribes are taking advantage of the isolation of Meiteis and are somewhat torturing them.

Even the Imphal-Jiribam Railway project, aimed as an alternative route for the Meiteis has also seen many engineers getting kidnapped and killed.
And the Highway connecting Imphal to Silchar is too bad...... TOO BAD!

And the hill tribes won't allow any repair work to happen here.
An only respite for the Meiteis for now would be having an ST status.

We haven't yet seen the possibility of it happening sooner or later, but yes there are much chances of territory getting lost.

Nagas were already attacking Meiteis.
We were so much aloof from their condition that we may not even know when this community will finish!

That's why I had to write this thread, to inform the rest of India about what's the situation in Manipur, and who are the #Meiteis. https://twitter.com/dr_dsandeep/status/1192523811750416384?s=09
