I said I was excited to play Sword and Shield yesterday and hella people were shocked because in their minds these games are dogshit and unplayable, when in reality if some mediocrity was enough to get me to stop playing Pokemon I would have stopped in 2014
I’ve always been vocal about how trash Pokemon has been, far before most of you. But I don’t need to let that ruin my entire experience. And it’s really just that simple. Some bad things don’t entirely negate all the good, and there’s plenty of good. ESPECIALLY competitively
At the end of the day, it’s just about what you find important to you. I can somewhat disregard some dick ass graphics because that’s not the most important thing to me when I play Pokémon, and that’s seemingly been the case for most of us until this year
The fun we have with friends and the interactions we have with each other have always carried the Pokemon experience, and the stuff people are complaining about would hardly change that if only they could look passed some of it.
Not that we should ignore it. It is true that a lot of the shit in Sword and Shield is absolutely unacceptable in this day and age. What I’m saying is that it is entirely possible to acknowledge that and still be excited to play the game, and even
