How & Why I’m extremely conservative:

I’m the oldest child of two to a single mother. Even though my father was around he was a musician.

My mom worked two jobs and never took a sick day.

No one was coming to save us; she had to do it herself.

I’ve been looking after myself since I was 5. I grew up in a violent city with no older cousins or peers.

I learned quickly that people in the streets will hold you accountable for your words and actions; often times violently.

I had to look out for myself.

I saw many kids die or go to jail; caught up in the spiral of the streets.

The laws may not have been fair and the fast life may have been a tempting trap, but ultimately the individual had to make a choice.

My mom made a choice to provide and raise us out of poverty. She made a choice to put our needs before her wants.

I had to make a choice not to get killed, go to prison, and to make something of myself.

So when I take a firm stand on personal behavior and accountability, this is my history.

The world may be cruel and unfair, but it’s your job survive. The game may be rigged but it’s your job to build an effective game plan.

If you don’t care enough about yourself to put in the work for yourself, I don’t give a what happens to you.

You obviously wanted it more than any other outcome because you didn’t do the work for anything else.

I may have compassion, but people must be accountable. I may advocate for some progressive ideas, but people must work hard.

After all the grievances & whining, the same question remains: what are you going to do to make your own life better?
