I wonder how many of the liberals and centrists blithely calling Morales a dictator realise the standards by which they& #39;re justifying what happened in Bolivia can be applied to many of the current Democratic nominees.
The Dem field has so far vowed to:
- pack the high court & entire court system with their favoured judges
- end a hallowed legislative measure of minority protection to ram through a radical agenda
- overhaul the electoral system because their opposition keeps winning with it

Now, in context, none of these measures is as "authoritarian" as I phrase them here. But of course, that& #39;s exactly what Morales, Chavez and all those other ne& #39;er do wells & their defenders say about the more dicey measures they took. Turns out context & framing do a lot of work!
One can only wonder how the Times etc. would have reported on a Latin American leftist leader & their party spending 2-3 years falsely accusing opponents of being foreign agents in concert w/ their allies in the powerful security services.
