Yandere Simulator is a game that started development back in 2014, and has (infamously) made almost no real progress in the near-6 years since.

In this thread, we will chronicle all the big "NEVER EVER" releases and events that saw the light of day before Yandere Sim ever did.
The King of Fighters XIV was announced in 2015, ending SNK& #39;s long focus on pachislot machines, marking their grand return to full video game development, and released in 2016 before Yandere Simulator was completed.
In late 2015, Adult Swim announced the fifth and final season of Genndy Tartakovsky& #39;s Samurai Jack. Originally penned as a movie, season 5 aired in 2017 and ended the series& #39; story after over a decade-long hiatus, and did so before Yandere Simulator was completed.
In 2018, Mega Man 11 was released, ending a dark, 6-year period following series& #39; producer Keiji Inafune& #39;s departure from Capcom, which plunged the IP into dormancy. The title has since become a million seller and revived the series, long before Yandere Simulator was completed.
In 2016, the Chicago Cubs won the World Series, ending the fabled 71-year Curse of the Billy Goat, which dates back to 1945.

Their victory in 2016 marked the 1st time in a century since they were crowned champions.

The Cubs won the World Series before Yandere Sim was completed.
In 2015, chapter 342 of Berserk was released. This chapter saw Guts finally reach Elfhelm after setting sail in chapter 286, which released seven years prior to chapter 342.

Guts finally got off the boat, ending Berserk& #39;s longest running joke before Yandere Sim was completed.
In 2016, Final Fantasy XV was released.

It began life in 2006 as a PS3 title under the Versus XIII name, and had several teasers since, before re-emerging as FFXV in E3 2013.

After a long development cycle and change of directors, FFXV released before Yandere Sim was finished.
In 2018, Iconoclasts was released.

The game began development in 2010, and was primarily developed, written, illustrated, and designed by just one person (Joakim Sandberg).

Iconoclasts spent 8 years in development, and came out before Yandere Simulator was completed.
In 2019, Cube World released on Steam.

Once seen as a possible rival to Minecraft, development began in 2011, helmed by one man (joined later by his wife).

It soon languished quietly as vaporware before suddenly launching on Steam in Sep 2019, before Yandere Sim was finished.
In 2016, Wolf Girl With You was released. Production of the eroge began in 2014, with work dating as far back as 2011.

Better known as Never Ever Wolf Girl, the eroge was finally completed in 2016 after some assets had been lost to a drive error, and released before Yandere Sim.
In 2014, Five Nights at Freddy& #39;s came out.

In the span of 3 just years, Scott Cawthon& #39;s surprise horror hit was followed by five sequels, 3 novels, and even talks of a film in production.

One man created and ended a series (several times) before Yandere Simulator was completed.
In 2016, The Last Guardian came out on PS4.

Another infamous NEVER EVER, the PS3 exclusive was delayed several times over after 2009, even resulting in Team ICO leaving Sony completely.

They would return as a new studio to finish The Last Guardian, all before Yandere Sim.
In 2019, Shenmue 3 was released.

Though a 3rd entry in Yu Suzuki& #39;s cult classic had been planned, it endured as an infamous NEVER EVER for 14 years.

After THE most successful video game Kickstarter in history, Shenmue 3 was released on this day, before Yandere Sim was finished.
In 2016, the Kizumonogatari movie hit theaters.

A Kizumono adaptation was teased ever since the Bakemono anime in 2009. It was delayed endlessly, until finally being confirmed as a 3-part film series. And delayed again.

The 3rd film screened in 2017, before YanSim was finished.
In 2019, Ace Combat 7 released.

After the release of AC6 in 2007, the Ace Combat series only saw life through a western-focused spin-off and a F2P PS3 game. Announced in 2015, AC7 marks the 1st proper Ace Combat in 12 years, and released before Yandere Simulator was completed.
In 2020, WWE superstar Edge came out of retirement.

After years of sustained damage to his spine, Edge was forced to retire in 2011, with a return long thought impossible.

Against all odds, Edge returned to the wrestling ring after 9 years, before Yandere Sim ended development.
In 2019, Phantasy Star Online 2& #39;s English version was re-announced.

News of the 2012 MMO& #39;s western release had been scarce for years, leading many to believe it had been cancelled - until E3 2019, where PSO2 was confirmed for a 2020 western release, before Yandere Sim released.
In 2019, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection released.

The film not only answers the most enduring question from the anime& #39;s 2008 finale, but also heralds the start of a new 10-year plan for the franchise, marking a full Code Geass comeback before Yandere Sim was completed.
In 2016, a new DOOM game was released.

Initially conceived as DOOM 4, the game meandered in development hell for nearly 10 years, even being totally retooled around 2012. Its 2016 release marked the first DOOM game in over a decade, releasing before Yandere Sim was completed.
In 2020, Valve released a new Half-Life.

Announced in 2019, Half-Life Alyx marks the first single-player game Valve developed since Portal 2 in 2011, and the first Half-Life since 2007.

After 13 years, a new Half-Life was released before Yandere Simulator finished development.
