Interesting WWII propaganda from 1943... from Donald Duck.

This wouldn’t fly today... but was still showing on tv in the late 1960’s, when I was a child.

Could be a reason many children of #WWII #Veterans stink at being politically correct. #VeteransDay
Absolute political incorrectness, yet a VERY REAL part of the history and culture of the 1940’s. Children of #WWII #Veterans (like myself) also grew up with these LoonyTunes. #Propaganda cartoons that promoted stereotypes are a part of our history.
This #WWII era cartoon shows Daffy Duck dropping behind enemy lines as a “commando.” Again, a propaganda cartoon promoting stereotypes, but a VERY real part of the culture of the 1940’s and decades later.

This cartoon was withheld until war’s end.
A US War Bond cartoon:

“Hitler Duck, Mussolini Goose and Hideki Tojo Duck,” representing the #WWII Axis Powers, are parodied in this cartoon.

“Peace Dove” later explains to his children, “Peace” and “Quiet” how he hates war, but stood up to evil.
“Private Snafu” cartoons illustrated situations that were:
S-ituation
N-ormal
A-ll
F- ‘ed
U-p

This one from 1944 showed #WWII soldiers that their gas masks were more than just dead weight to carry with them and is thought to be written by Dr. Seuss.
More politically incorrect “Private SNAFU” cartoons that emphasize to #WWII soldiers, sailors and airmen results of snafu’s such as “loose lips sink ships,” “gold bricking,” fraternizing with the enemy, not following orders, etc.

2 hours worth.
A very short excerpt from a Disney cartoon film, “Stop That Tank,” which instructed Canadian #WWII forces on anti-tank tactics shows “Hitler’s fate.”
