Another week, and another nod to Everton's Alex Iwobi (thread).

His role in the second goal was more important than people realise.

I like that he lets the ball roll past him when he receives the pass, meaning he now faces forward in possession without having to take a touch.
With Sidibe making a run ahead of him, he could have easily played a short five-yard pass for the right-back to run onto.

However, the same wouldn't have really aided Everton in attack as Sidibe would have been left in a 1v1 situation, most likely forcing him to go backwards.
Instead, Iwobi takes responsibility and holds onto the ball, carrying it forward whilst forcing Oriol Romeu to attempt to close him down.

This delay in playing the ball allows Sidibe to gallop further forward and into a stronger attacking position in the final third.
Iwobi then plays a superbly waited ball for the Frenchman to run onto and fire in the cross that led to Everton's winning strike.

Whilst the cross was excellent from Sidibe, the weight of the ball from Iwobi made things much easier for him.
It was an impressive cameo from Iwobi who is becoming an important player in Everton's attack already.

Notably, his introduction into RW on Saturday meant he has now played three different positions in his last three appearances, highlighting his versatility
Although he may be prone to the odd bad day - like Spurs last week, he seems like a really good purchase for Everton.
