A thread about Jordan, KSA & Israel history.
In 1915 Sir Henry McMahon, British High Commissioner in Egypt, offered Sherif Hussein of Mecca [ Sharif Hussein ibn Ali] an independent Arab state if he helped the British to defeat the Ottoman Turks...
Hussein’s interest in throwing off his Turkish overlords converged with Britain’s war aim of defeating the Ottomans.
That Kingdom actually become a reality and was called Kingdom of Hejaz (1916–1925)

It is important to understand that, while the Hashemites practiced orthodox Sunni Islam with possible global reach to their neighbor, the Nejd Kingdom practices a rather unorthodox type of Sunni Islam called Wahhabism that was led by Abdulaziz Ibn Saud..
Ibn Saud also coveted the fertile lands from Hejaz and the prestige of becoming guardians of two temples.
The British who ruled India [and Palestine] had a leitmotiv of fear for Muslims to rise against them, so they implemented the strategy of dividing and conquered.
So they changed plans and start supplying weapons to Abdulaziz Ibn Saud in his war against King Hussein ibn Ali [Hashemite] until he defeats him, King Hussein of Hejaz fled to Cyprus [because the succession is less lovely in arabic world]
and declared his son Ali bin Hussein heir to the throne.

At this stage, the British were devoured by remorse [joking], so they decided to cut 77% of British Palestine's mandate and crone the Hashemite Abdullah I as compensation for his short life Kingdom.
At that time, Gertrude Bell [who deliberately designed the disaster called Iraq] decided to appoint Faisal I, King king of Iraq (Son of Hussein bin Ali)
It is important to understand that, although Kingdom of Hejaz had a population of 850k Bedouins
Yet the vast mayority decided to stay (Saudi Arabia) so the Hashemites fled with a few thousand Bedouins loyal to Transjordan,
The Kingdom without subjects fled to subjects without a ruler. In them, the Jordanians were less than 200K.
The Arab revolt (1936-1939) in the Mandate for Palestina [which began with the classic Arab murder of Jews ended with the British killing 5000 Arabs]

Then, after Britain 'cruel repression' that antagonized not only Arabs but Muslims around the world from as far away as India, where the Muslim League of all India adopted several resolutions denouncing the policy Palestine of Great Britain.
Here see the British leitmotiv of Muslim upbringing in India, the entire disaster in Palestine pushed by extremist like Mohammed Ali Jinnah, father of Pakistan? After threatening riots in India, Britain was subdued and created the 1939 White Paper that effectively blocked Jews
Fleeing the Holocaust save refugees in future Israel. So, in reality, Jinnah frustrated the implementation of the Balfour Declaration at the time of need so effective that the Balfour Declaration was never implemented as a result, 6 million Jews were killed by Nazis.
It is also important to note that the British White Paper of 1939 was not only a betrayal of the Jewish people or the Balfour Declaration, but it was actually a violation of international law [You will listen to the extreme left citing international law when it suits them] 😝
That the final draft of the British Mandate for Palestine (legal instrument) given by the League of Nations [Predated UN but had international law status]
ART. 6: The Palestinian Administration, while guaranteeing the rights sections of the population are not prejudiced, ...
, shall facilitate Jewish immigration under suitable conditions and shall encourage, in co-operation with the Jewish agency referred to in Article 4, close settlement by Jews on the land, including State land.

Summary of British Policies:
1) They promise a territory to the Hashemites and double-cross them after 9 years.

2) Pushed Wahhabism against Sunni orthodox Islam to divide and conquer.
3) Double cross the Jews, partitioned the mandate to compensate those from point (1)
4) Triple cross again the Jews by blocking the migrations of fleeing Jews.
5) After Israel was declared, UK armed, encouraged Arabs against Israel in 1948
