NEW: A collaboration between @KFF and @CookPolitical examining attitudes and experiences of voters in four key battleground states (MI, MN, PA, and WI). https://www.kff.org/other/report/blue-wall-voices-project/
With the help of @ssrs_research, we surveyed 3,222 voters including 745 Wisconsin voters, 767 Michigan voters, 752 Pennsylvania voters, and 958 Minnesota voters (yes, Minnesota nice is a real thing).
This is an area in the Upper Midwest that was previously considered a Democratic stronghold, and where state polls performed poorly in 2016. It is great to see more state-based polling helping to illuminate the dynamics and issues driving the 2020 presidential race one year out.
Health care and the economy are among the top issues for voters in each of the four states. https://www.kff.org/report-section/blue-wall-voices-project-how-national-issues-may-influence-2020/
But these are two issues on which voters give President Trump very different marks. Health care is one of the only issues in which Trump’s approval is lower than his overall job approval. The poll also examines the role of other key issues in 2020 such as immigration and trade.
in my defense, it was 5am my time. But trump on the economy -1 percentage point, the main takeaway holds: voters see trump's performance on the economy more favorably than his performance on health care.
