Do I have it wrong? It looks like even if Beshear won, EVERY OTHER STATEWIDE SEAT WENT R. So yeah these elections might portend the outcome of the Senate race next year, but!
I think perhaps many of you out-of-towners do not appreciate the fact that pretty much all the statewide seats KY Dems lost tonight were HELD BY DEMOCRATS DURING THE BEVIN ADMINISTRATION
These are tangible losses. We can talk all day about what Bevin's loss means, but it appears to mean "an unpopular megalomaniacal sociopath who made it a point to piss off political foes and allies alike can lose in a state that has almost never elected a Republican governor"
No because IT'S đź‘Ź NOT đź‘Ź PARTICULARLY đź‘ŹGOODđź‘Ź https://twitter.com/DaSerchuk/status/1191900036306735104?s=19
Y'all

I understand that Matt Bevin losing this race is a good thing. I get that.

The problem is that it is *only* a referendum on Bevin's idiotic behavior. Kentucky Dems lost a lot of ground.

Which means:
In the year of our Lord 2019, when the national GOP, whose stygian charioteer is Kentucky's own senior Senator, is engaging in openly criminal & stupid activity, that same GOP has likely *gained* ground in Kentucky.

And this is *without* orange dude at the top of the ticket
In conclusion: the real success story is Treva Hodges, a tattooed humanities prof who just beat a GOP incumbent to become mayor of Charlestown, Indiana. GOODNIGHT.
