Hello "poor people can't be vegan" crowd, today I, a poor vegan, will show you some swaps and low cost foods found at the supermarket.

1rst beans are cheaper and healthier than processed canned meat which is also carcinogenic to humans.
Even the lowest priced processed canned meat is more expensive than beans. Keep in mind it's carcinogenic.
Corned beef and tuna are typical cheap go to's. Beans are still cheaper than these products.
If you can't afford fresh produce (like me, I do a mix) for less than a dollar you can buy canned or even better, frozen veggies that retain all of their nutrition for $2-3 a bag.
Other cheap options include pasta. For less than a dollar you can have an entire bag of pasta that's good for more than one meal.
Oats are a healthy vegan breakfast that is also cheap and quick to make.
Let's compare milk. I checked the cheapest vegan milk vs the cheapest cow milk and there was an 84 cents difference, cow's milk being slightly cheaper. However there are cow milks that are $2-3. The 84 cents can be made up with what you save on other vegan foods that are cheaper.
Another cheap food item that's vegan is rice. Today I could get 3 pounds of rice for 95 cents.
**This is not a complete groceries list**
These are examples of cheap vegan foods that you can get if you are low-income like me. Don't believe the lies. You still have the option to make better choices if you have access to a supermarket.
