Did you know anyone from the Greatest Generation (1910-1924)? I was lucky enough to know my great-grandparents on my mom's side. If you did, tell me a story that you admire about one of them. Something they overcame or saw or did that is like... WOW.
I'm gonna kick this one off because I am SO PROUD of my Granny (great-grandma) Thelma Dietz ( married Deibert... then divorced) and my Great Grandfather John C Deibert II. Tey lived in Pearl Harbor with three young sons (including my lil' grandpa) when it was attacked. (con't)
Great Grandaddy (yeah, I'm southern) had to go fight... leaving Granny and three little boys alone. Sucked for ALL OF THEM. But he did his duty and she... climbed up on the back of the toilet to look out a window and watch a sub sink. (con't)
Then she took her little boys into the jungle to hide (my grandpapa was the youngest and he was 6... Uncle Harold, the eldest, was 9) by herself. The little boys pretended to shoot down planes ACTUALLY shooting at them. Every single one of them including Great Grandaddy survived
Oh, Granny was also a November scorpio. I was born right before her 70th birthday... and she lived into my late 20s. I feel SO LUCKY I got to have her for so much of my life.
Today let's talk about people who you know/knew and loves from The Silent Generation (1925-1945). Tell me a story that you admire about one of them. Something the overcame or saw or did that you find inspiring/uplighting/amazing.
Ok, Boomers: as in today let's talk about people who you know/knew and love who are Baby Boomers (1946-1964). Tell me a story that you admire about one of them. Something they overcame or did that you find inspiring/uplighting/amazing.
