As we approach #VeteransDay on November 11th, I will be spotlighting local veterans to honor their service and help commemorate this important holiday:
Dan Gimiliano of Bethel Park served in WWII & was drafted into the U.S. Army's 26th Infantry Division as an Ammunitions Truck Driver. He fought in 4 major battles in France, Austria & Czechoslovakia, earning a Bronze Star in each for driving his truck under enemy fire.
After the war, Dan was discharged as a Corporal T5 & had a successful 20+ year career as an engineer for Duquesne Slag. At 96 years old, he looks back fondly on his service.
