THREAD: Ranking Eminem Albums

Such a unique discography. A lot of work went into this so all interactions are hugely appreciated❤️

Enjoy...
9. Revival
We all knew this was coming. Uninspired, awful instrumentals, corny lines are in abundance. Feels like a frustrated artist trying to cling on to what he used to be, wanting to grow but just can’t. ‘Walk On Water’ is decent and of course rhymes schemes are great.
8. Kamikaze
A passionate, needed comeback that’s feels more like a mixtape. The first 3 tracks are impeccable, but become inconsistent after that. ‘Not Alike’ and ‘Fall’ are great and minus the poor hook ‘Stepping Stone’ is reminiscent of ‘Em Show’ Em. Remaining tracks are poor.
7. Recovery
Despite it’s beautifully inspiring nature, in 2019 the album sounds extremely dated. The aggressive delivery’s enjoyment is very reliant on mood, but if you’re in the mood there’s none better. Immensely passionate but often gets ahead of itself and lost in the moment.
6. Encore
Inconsistency personified. Some of Em’s peaks are here, ‘Like Toy Soldiers’ and ‘Mockingbird’ are some of his best tracks. Part of Encore is completely unlistenable: ‘Big Weenie’, ‘RainMan’ and my ears wont allow me to play ‘My 1st Single’. Enough quality to be good.
5. The Marshall Mathers LP2
A perfect opener of ‘Bad Guy’ sets the themes of nostalgia and Em almost being plagued by his past, despite the success that he’s found because of it. Em’s intricate rhyming is phenomenal. Very introspective, Em seems to be maturing in his own way.
4. Relapse
A chilling, dark album which sees Em in his element. Hugely creative, Em creates concepts that are brilliantly evil. When vulnerable, it’s still amazing but doesn’t seem to fit. If the concept was stuck to it may be higher, it’s really that good. Under appreciate.
3. The Slim Shady LP
A perfect introduction to the wild mind of Slim Shady. Jumping from whacky tracks like ‘Guilty Conscience’ to beautiful tracks like ‘Rock Bottom’. Too many classic tracks to name. A truly unique album that takes you through passion, pain, absurdity and amaze.
2. The Eminem Show
This album oozes momentum, Eminem was untouchable. A god-like flow over possibly his best best selection of his career. From the vicious ‘Till I Collapse’ to the heartwarming ‘Hailie’s Song’ this album has everything a great album needs and could be number 1.
1. The Marshall Mathers LP
A masterpiece. A dark, serious atmosphere with an unrivalled sense of humour. Countless flawless tracks. Em is lashing out at the world so aggressively yet poetically. Truly feels like the thoughts of a manic genius who’s been hurled into the spotlight.
Thank you for reading, I’m really trying to build something great with this account so I’d really appreciate a follow❤️
