Sunday morning thoughts:

Consider this
Why was Jesus born in Bethlehem?
Timing is everything.
He was called the Son of David
Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem on orders.
Luke 2
"And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

(And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city"
Jesus was born in the same city, (Bethlehem) that his great great etc grandfather, King David was born in.
Timing is everything.
Jesus was conceived in the correct time, that he would be born in Bethlehem.
(When fullness of time was come)
Now also consider, that if all of the descendants of David followed the edict to go to their ancestors hometown...then when Jesus was born, the city of Bethlehem will filled with royalty.
Royalty filled the city. And Jesus King of Kings and Lord of Lords...slept in a manger.
*was filled with royalty.
And consider how many wives Solomon had (therefore many children) Bethlehem must have been really crowded with David's descendants, on the night of Jesus's birth.
Wow!
Sort of a mind-bender.
Jesus said everything in prophecy must be fulfilled. His birth in Bethlehem was prophesied in the Book of Micah.
"But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."

(Micah 5)
